Supported employment services are designed to help individuals who are employment ready find and maintain competitive employment in the community. Starting with job development, staff assist with completing applications, developing a resume, registering at CDO Workforce, preparing for an interview and developing effective soft skills. Once hired, individuals work with an employment specialist who offer customized employment supports on and off the work site. Additional support is available to help improve workplace behavior, work-related socialization skills, skills training, mobility training and employer and/or coworker training and support. This service is funded through OPWDD and ACCES-VR, depending on each person’s eligibility.
Employers also benefit from supported employment through pre-placement screening, on site support and long term follow up and possible access to financial incentives.
